% STS-59 launch delayed;
% NASA to foster Aerospace Education In Arkansas;
% Grabe to leave astronaut corp.
Countdown for Endeavour's STS-59 mission began as scheduled yesterday. Shuttle
managers, however, have delayed launching Endeavour by one day to inspect the
Shuttle's main engines. Management will meet today to discuss the results of
the inspections.
STS-59 is slated to launch on Friday, April 8, 1994 at 8:06 a.m. EDT.

NASA recently announced its intent to grant the Arkansas Aerospace Education
Center $500,000. The grant will be used to implement its Technology Industry
Resource Project to help develop opportunities for secondary school students in
mathematics, applied sciences and technology.
The new Aerospace Education Center is a unique collaboration of public and
private interests. Students statewide will be able to experience new and
challenging assignments in their classrooms and in the centers' facilities as
well.

Effective April 11, 1994, the NASA astronaut corp will say good-bye to Ronald
J. Grabe. Grabe will join Orbital Sciences Corp in Dulles, Va.
"We certainly will miss Ron. Not only is he a superb Shuttle commander, but he
is a great technical manager as well," Flight Crew Operations Director David C.
Leestma said. "It's a credit to the space industry that Ron's wealth of
experience and knowledge will no be lost."
A four-time Shuttle flyer, Grabe will retire from the Air Force as a Colonel
and become Vice President, Business Development for Orbital Sciences Corp.'s
launch Systems Group.
